Phil winched-up John and Pete. OK thermal conditions but perhaps we went in the wrong direction. We headed down the Garvies. Pete had some very close looks at a couple of Southland paddocks but as usual scratched his way home. John turned at Garston and back via Remarkables, then east a bit. Both did about 280km.
